Mighty Wanderers FC has suspended Head Coach Bob Mpinganjira with immediate effect, the club has announced.
In a press statement signed by Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe, the Nomads said the decision follows the team's 2-1 defeat to debutants Ekhaya FC in the 2026 Airtel Top 8 final at Bingu National Stadium on Sunday.

"The club announces the immediate suspension of Head Coach Mr. Bob Mpinganjira," part of the statement reads.
The club added that it will name an Interim Head Coach, along with any changes to the Technical Panel, within the next 48 hours.
The suspension comes at a critical point in the season. Wanderers currently sit second in the FDH Bank Premiership on 29 points, level with leaders Silver Strikers, having registered [X] wins, 5 draws, and 1 defeat as the first round nears its close.
The timing is notable given the club's upcoming continental fixture: Wanderers are set to host Simba SC of Tanzania at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. A few months ago, Mpinganjira travelled to Scotland and England to further his coaching education.
