Red Lions forward Matamando Mwatchipitsa has picked up more silverware after winning the inaugural Stewards Financial Consultants Goal of the Month award.

Fans voted his strike against Blue Eagles as the best goal of the month. The goal came in Red Lions’ 3-2 loss, but it earned the club its first-ever individual award from the sponsors.

The award is Mwatchipitsa’s third individual honour at Red Lions. The former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets reserve attacker previously won the High Energy Electric Player of the Month award twice.

The attacker has scored 2 goals in 13 FDH Bank Premiership matches this season. His goals have helped Red Lions sit 6th on the table with 19 points.

Stewards Financial Consultants Managing Director Khumbo Banda said the company wants to see Red Lions push for a top-eight finish this campaign.

Red Lions will visit Mighty Wanderers at Mpira Stadium on Saturday in Week 14 of the FDH Bank Premiership.
